(1) Plan International - Various Roles

  • Emergencies Intern: Plan International Ireland is seeking an Intern in the Emergencies unit to support its programme design, research, monitoring and reporting, as well as increasing the scale and scope of the emergencies work. Find out more. Closing date: 22 May.

  • Public Engagement Volunteer: The Public Engagement Volunteer will be supporting the Donor Relations Officer to co-ordinate communications between children and their sponsors. The volunteer will have the opportunity to conduct research, support event co-ordination and to provide assistance to the team across various areas including Marketing, Fundraising and Digital Media. (2) Vita seeks Board Members

Vita is a smart, innovative Irish Development Agency fighting hunger and climate change in Africa. The Board of Vita, together with our management and staff, are working to drive new collaborations, including innovative funding and partnerships and to become a leading agency in next generation development. We are now seeking to add to our Non-Executive Director Board members with skills at senior level in the areas of Fundraising and Marketing. Board gender balance will be a consideration in this process. The appointees would need to be available to participate in board and committee activities of Vita, to lend hands-on support to our Dublin based team, and to commit to visiting our programmes in Ethiopia and Eritrea.  A minimum time commitment of approximately 60 hours per year would be expected. (3) UNHCR seeks Intern for Protection Unit

Desirable qualifications and professional experience: Graduates with a background in refugee law, human rights law and public international law, international relations, development studies and/or other social science disciplines are encouraged to apply. (5) Mercy International Association - Global Action (GA) Programme seeks volunteers to assist with their Global Justice programme

We are keen to work with graduates who enjoy research and writing, to assist with the updating of policy papers across a range of justice issues.  Volunteers will be working out of the MIA Centre in Lower Baggot St, Dublin 2. The time frame is part-time during the summer months, with the possibility of continuing beyond this. A small daily stipend is provided to cover travel expenses. The News Editor manages STAND’s online magazine, focusing on global justice issues for a third-level student audience. The ideal candidate will be experienced, highly organised, passionate about global justice and have newsroom experience.
